Washing Machine problem

#1

Post: # 10337Post hombre »

Is there a washing machine machine expert out there who can advise what I can do with our Samsung w/machine that is not spinning during its washing course. It came up with a code that suggested insufficient clothes in drum, wife used max clothing next wash, worked fine, but now intermittently does not spin despite full load. Washes okay but not spinning - what could be the problem? Hoping for money saving advice before a possibility of getting ripped off. Unfortunately, warranty expired in June. TIA.

I don't have a Samsung so haven't come across the problem. Did you do the usual fix i.e unplug the power and leave it out for a minute. It sounds like it has very sensitive sensors. Are you using the same wash cycle all the time or is it happening on all cycles. Is there anything stuck in the filter that is hindering the water emptying? Check the manual for the different load capacity attached to each programme. After that it is probably a PCBoard issue so will need the service person.

When it spins it also uses the water pump, if the filter on the pump is blocked or broken it doesn't usually allow it to do the spin cycle.

Thanks Adey. Tried again, spin worked so it can't be the pump. Will keep checking by process of elimination if it happens again.

We had something similar but with a Hotpoint machine. The filter had a lot of limescale in it, since being cleaned out it has been fine. Also could be due to an uneven load, of maybe heavy items, which hold a lot of water?
