I would be very surprised if the negavity around the explusion of Brits or wearing of masks on beaches would actually deter many UK tourists. What will deter UK tourists is the travel protocol that the UK Government puts in place for countries with high infections and slow vaccination rate. It is unfortunate that the infection rates in Spain are rising once again and the vaccination roll out has still to gather pace.Bee wrote: 03 Apr 2021 15:25 The hotel association HOSBEC are incensed with all the negative publicity this is causing in the UK market for the Costa Blanca. They say they need the UK tourists as they are the ones that fill the hotels. They say between the expulsion of Brits and expecting pdople to wear masks on the beach the whole thing is a mess. They now say that British people could be lost to Turkey, Greece the Carribean and even the Canaries and Balearics.

Re: Brits still trying it get in !!
The rate is very low in Comm Valenciana. Snr Puig said 1 millon vaccines will have been given by next week. I keep an eye on Comm Val because the population is roughly the same as Ireland. We are to top the 1 million as well next week. Hopefully it will all puck up pace now as I need my holidays in Spain in August

You are correct Bee the rate is low in Comm Valenciana and also neighbouring Murcia. Unfortunately the same cannot be said for the rest of the country and that is the issue for both domestic and international travel.Bee wrote: 03 Apr 2021 17:14 The rate is very low in Comm Valenciana. The 1 million vaccines will probably be achieved next week, however this figure covers all vaccine products across all age groups. With the age restrictions in place on some of the vaccine products it means several vaccination programmes are taking place in parallel, and because of that locally I know people in their 60s receiving their first dose whilst others in mid-80s are yet to be called.
