Using Spanish ATM card in Portugal
Hi, I was thinking of giving my ATM / debit card to my son to use when he goes to Portugal soon, it is a Banco Sabadell card. I have looked on the banks website but I cannot see any fees for other Countries with Euro currency and was wondering if it is reasonable. Anyone done this in another Euro currency country with Spanish card. I could just get euros in UK, might be easier.

Never used it elsewhere for Euros but I accidentally used my Sabadell card (thought it was Nationwide - same colour) in an ATM in Los Angeles recently.
It worked but that's all I can say at the moment until the statement comes through

You will be better off by getting another card from Sabadell in his name as an additional name then it will be all correct if any disputes arise as no one else should know your PIN number

My son knows all my passwords and PIN numbers. Trust him with my life. No issues there. My other son knows them all as well. Both are highly intelligent and 100% trustworthy.

Sabadell are OK unless you need to contact them and then they don't want to know, that is what i am learning after all these years, i was with sol bank that became sabadell, I have not changed banks in 21 years. Did you have any fees for using the card in Portugal. By the sounds.of it I may as well just give him cash, sound a lot more straigjt forward.
