Just hope now that the band call it a day Charlie Watts was the Heartbeat and you cannot replace that RIP Mr Watts and thanks for the memories

Agree totally Elton john,Paul McCartney,Cliff richard,Madonna,please call it a day and apologies to anyone else i have forgotten,heard Toyah on radio 2 yesterday,geez what a noise tinnitus......too many of these old entertainers have gone to the well once too often,please stop constipating the airwaves and make way for some new blood.

;) I wouldn't say that Charlie Watts was a great drummer but a good drummer of a great band, and his style suited The Rolling Stones.

He didn't do frenetic drum solos like Ginger Baker or Keith Moon but just kept up a steady beat or as orangepicker aptly put it, the heartbeat.

I've read many comments, all waxing lyrical about his playing and quite frankly there are, and were, much better drummers out there.

Who is missing is Taylor Hawkins drummer of The Foo Fighters fronted by Dave Grohl ex-drummer of Nirvana, another great drummer.
