Blocked website

Post: # 45234Post jimny1 »

Hi
I have been using this uk competition site for many years and never had a problem , i usually enter worldwide competitions and have won one or two
https://www.latestdeals.co.uk/competitions
Three days ago i found that i cannot open the website , the page stays blank
I thought it was an issue with windows so i tried opening on my new chromebook , no luck
Then i tried opening on my mobile, the same
I checked if the site is down but no, it is up and running
By process of elimination i can only assume they have either blocked my IP address or my internet provider avatel has blocked it
I used a vpn with a uk address to try to enter but again no luck
I googled the problem but only had one person complaining this happened to them for this website and that was in 2022
People suggested clearing the cookies and cache etc but it didnt work for them , or for me
I dont know if they finally got back into the site as the comments ended
Does anyone technical have any other suggestions ? TIA

The site opens for me okay.

It can't be your IP address if you still can't open the website using a VPN and my internet provider Scansat has just been taken over by Avatel.

So I don't know what the answer would be.

Thats the main competition site i use fred, i post competitions onto it from loquax , loquax has every competition available
I just cannot understand why i cant load loquax anymore
I think it happened after a windows update, i tried deleting some recent updates but it wouldnt let me delete all
I suppose i could do a system restore but i think thats a bit extreme for such a small problem
Its all very strange :?

I dont have any ad blockers fred , and just windows defender, but i have had it for years , so i dont think it could be that, unless a defender update has caused it ?

The same with the chromebook and mobile, just what they came with, no additional anti virus programmes
