Leaving your car window slightly open when parked could lead to a fine

Well this is a new one on me , getting fined for letting a little air in your hot car while parked up
This is to do with security, it can entice car thieves to target your car it says
But surely that's nothing to do with the police, they rarely get involved with car theft, it's an insurance concern ?
And what about convertibles , if you leave the roof down and turn on your high tech alarm system , i expect this would also be an offence ?
If they want to get in your car they smash the window anyway
It's getting worse here than the UK for money grabbing off the motorist

Personally I always leave my car fully secure and have never left any windows partly opened. If it's a hot day opening the door for a few minutes lets any hot air out anyway.

And it seems that it's a an old law anyway. :)

I sometimes used to just crack the window open a few millimetres just to try to stop it being like an oven on a hot day where even the steering wheel is too hot to grasp ,i am more cautious now with the amount of thieving going on around everywhere , but always make sure i leave nothing on show in the car, otherwise it would be a brick through the window on my return
I just have never heard of this rule before

If there is no actual air movement through the car then leaving a window, or windows, open a crack will do nothing to keep the temperature down.

I've got into the habit of always putting the windscreen sunscreen on. No more hot steering wheels.

Your car’s full of hot air at anytime, John :D
