If this forum gets any more adverts on it it will not be worth the time wasted getting rid of them

I have not changed the advert settings Fred, so I am at a bit of a loss as to why you are seeing 'more adverts'. It could possibly be due to Google Adsense utilising any empty space it identifies on the site and filling it with a relevant advert if it can find one based on your recent internet usage, so I will see if I can do anything about that.

They don't bother me. At least they're not pop-ups which can be most annoying and make some websites unusable.

As a matter of interest (as we once dabbled with Google adverts as a means to cover some website costs), do you get much much income from Google and the ads? Feel free to tell me to mind my own business if I'm being too nosey! We could all start clicking a few adverts every day if that would help!

Average earnings with Google Adsense is €0.06 per day, and this is mainly achieved through forum page views where an advert is displayed as opposed to an advert being clicked. Clicks on adverts average 1 or 2 a month, but the CPC ie. the earnings generated by each click is extremely low for various reasons, some mentioned below.

I had very very low expectations of using Google Adsense on this forum. Google Adsense was never going to work well with this forum as the content is too broad, and not specific to a particular niche, or sub-niche ie. technology or finance / laptops or investments.

The forum also suffers from poor quality of traffic which Google Adsense takes into account, or more specifically traffic from the wrong type of countries.

Another factor on the low earnings is the combination of English language site for a Spanish location. Because of IP addresses, if you are in Spain you will see Spanish adverts on the forum that you may or may not understand. If you are in Ireland or UK, you may see good quality adverts relevant to your location, but those companies will not be paying Google Adsense much to put their adverts on a forum centered around a location in Spain.

Traditionally Google Adsense has never worked well in Spain, even for Spaniards with a site in Spanish.

Cheers Carl, that's pretty much what we found.

Fred I am wondering when you said you had to get rid of the adds. Do you not just scroll past them and ignore them or am I missing something.
