It sits on a site on a beautiful links golf course which is closed but due to open for play on 1st April. The site evolved many years ago when members drove from farther a field for a round of golf snd brought their towing caravan with them. Before long, many others started to do the same and eventually the club turned the land on the sand dunes into a site for members. There are 40 mobile homes on it and it’s idyllic. We’ve been on the site for over 35 years and our adult children still live it! I remember the children heading out to play golf with their little friends and racing in for food and rushing straight out again until dark. My sister and I decided to join the club as everyone else played so we didn’t but it didn’t take us long to become addicted to. Such happy days. With going to Spain so much we pretty much abandoned it but not so now. So glad we never got rid of it. Well take another trip down next week as it is a joy to be there.

If the weather's nice (dry) you really can't beat the scenery in the UK, including Southern Ireland, I hasten to add. ;)

I've no intention of moving back to the UK but I do miss the lovely scenery.

Somerset was my favourite county, although I did hear that there are some dodgy characters from Yeovil. ;)

I also missed fitted carpets and central heating but they were sorted years ago. :D

A spokesman for the British embassy in Madrid said: "When making plans to travel from the UK to Spain, a UK national must make sure that they meet both the requirements to leave the UK and those to enter Spain, bearing in mind that they are not the same.

"Until 6pm on March 30 only those who are legally resident (or have sufficient documentation to prove residency) are allowed to enter Spain.

"From March 31, entry to Spain will only be granted to those passengers who can demonstrate that their journey is essential, as well as those who are already legally resident in Spain.

"Ultimately, the decision on whether to grant entry into Spain is made by Spanish border officials."
