Well you have to confirm you have British TV licence to watch iPlayer. Happy to be corrected but as a Spanish resident I suspect you might not.

Yes you do stowie, but that's hardly illegal if you say have one when you don't, and there is nothinng illegal in using a VPN to watch iplayer and it certainly isn't stealing anything .. what are you stealing !!

No different in having a dish and a Sky box and paying for a Sky subscription through the UK as I do.
The terms and conditions of Sky is that you must live in the UK to receive Sky, but it's not illegal if you get around it and it's certainly not stealing as I pay for a monthly subscription.

Question of morals really isn't it? BBC licence monies goes some way towards funding the programmes being made that is why BBC is advert free,

Is it stealing well I know what I think and am comfortable with, you must do as you wish.

I am a Spanish resident, but also have a house in the UK, and pay for a TV licence, so I can watch TV when I'm there.

Well I'm over 75 and would qualify for a free TV licence anyway. ... Does that make you feel better.

"A VPN does not make it legal you are still stealing someone else's content"
thanks for the backup on that.

I'm.not going to argue with you, as long as you sleep well at night, and just for clarity you do not qualify for a free licence, unless you also receive pension credit.

Some over 75 households are eligible for a free TV Licence. You can get a free licence if:

You, as the licence holder, are 75 years or older
AND
you, or your partner living at the same address, receive Pension Credit.

I sleep very well at night thank you, along with the many many thousands of other people who live in Europe and can receive BBC on Freesat via a satellite dish and don't need to pay for a TV licence because the BBC is a free to air channel.
Bye.

If someone living in the BBC serving area using a VPN to access the BBC are they stealing anything?

Biker1 wrote: 27 Oct 2021 10:29 As freddo says, whether you're using a VPN or not, its still stealing.
A virtual private network (VPN) gives you online privacy and anonymity by creating a private network from a public internet connection. VPNs mask your internet protocol (IP) address so your online actions are virtually untraceable.
We know what VPN means .... but what are you stealing ... and freddo has retracted what he said anyway. :D

What am I stealing watching BBC iplayer via VPN or anything else for that matter.
We know... Some might not ?
So are you saying BT sport is not a pay per view channel ?
And to watch Bbc i player you should have a licence.
And no doubt you use a vpn to get a UK ip.address,
Because Spanish ip's are blocked.
So technically you are stealing.
