It could be the blood group but my wife says she gets bitten badly if she is wearing perfume.

If you Google what attracts mosquitoes, you will find that although the colour of clothing, perspiration, body odour and certain soaps and perfumes attract them, by far the biggest attraction of mosquitoes to humans is the emission of carbon dioxde and body heat.
Most of the time, with a mosquito bite, I come up with a small white blister, akin to a nettle sting, and after 15 minutes or so the irritation has gone. However with a plethora of bites, I have to treat them to abate further symptoms like raised red welts and a large inflamed patch around the site of the bite.

Its true some people get bitten some don't, I am one of the lucky ones but my daughter gets bitten and has big scars from them that last for months, they did say it depends on your blood but I am sure it said resus negative get bitten more, both me and my daughter are negative so that doesn't hold up, also they say if you have smelly feet you get bitten now that could be true as my feet don't smell at all but my daughters do,......better hide lol

I was bragging a while back that i hadnt been bitten this year but am now eating my words, while they are eating my blood
I have some big bites on my legs through sitting outside at night
They have arrived late this year but are very active

You could be on to something there Wendy, my feet dont smell either lol
However that only explains the attraction,
not the reaction lol.
