I send and receive cards, it keeps us in touch with people we dont get to see so often, the cards can be recycled not just dumped in the bin.

..how can they be recycled?...I would willingly try it...for the moment they go in the bin for paper/card recycling....

Thats what I do most of the time, that said not all christmas, birthday cards etc. can be recycled as I found out recently.
When is card/paper not card/paper for recycling ? Well if they are plain paper/card that's okay, but apparently if they have glitter, glue, over-printed in foil or 3d image they should be disposed of with normal household waste.
