Know to social services, visiting these people regularly, mother in an unfit place etc, I wouldn't mind betting there.is a bit more to this story.

The general opinion seems to be growing that if the police had acted when first contacted, the little boy may have still been alive.

I hope there is a proper enquiry and not a whitewash.
