Re: Emmision zones
I have a year to buy another car then. 2nd hand cars are so expensive in Spain I purchased new the last time as I could not see the point. Any ideas of new car prices of average sized 2 wheel drive cars?

Re: Emmision zones
Yes, and if they do decide to introduce a zone in Torrevieja then second-hand car prices will increase even more as people like you and me sell their zone-banned cars (for buttons) and chase the few, second-hand, zone-acceptable cars. More utter madness of the green variety.Retire1day wrote: 03 Jan 2023 17:41 I have a year to buy another car then. 2nd hand cars are so expensive in Spain I purchased new the last time as I could not see the point. Re: Emmision zones
We got our sticker yesterday at the Cortes in La Mata. Needed ID. We used a driving license.
Car prices.
Our Dacia Stepway is
4 years old. Took it to Renault for it’s service and had a walk through the showroom admiring their selection of new cars.
We paid €11,900 approx over 4,years ago and the new car today is €18,100. Quite an increase! Everything seems to have increased in price big time. Bite the bullet and buy soon.

Re: Emmision zones
There is absolutely no way we are going to buy a new car for Spain for €18,100. We bought an old Berlingo last year for around €1,800 and it's perfect; starts first time, every time, loads of room for grandkids, beachchairs, inflatables, shopping etc etc. We'll just not go into town if they continure with this madness, Torrevieja's loss.Rosiemac wrote: 11 Jan 2023 09:32 We paid €11,900 approx over 4,years ago and the new car today is €18,100. Details on which stickers will allow you into the Low Emission Zones (Zonas de Bajas Emisiones/ZBE) of the cities in the Alicante Province with population 50k+.

Re: Emmision zones
As a workaround for UK cars I, and others, are reading that a French crit aire will be accepted.
Just to update it took a fortnight to get a French one for our car, 5 euros using the French Gov website. Was a fairly simple process but did need a scan of your V5.
Be aware there are several sites offering to do it for you at a considerable cost.

From Today's Diario.
An Agreement on the fines to be imposed for motorists entering the ZBE areas without the proper sticker. THEY DIDN'T AGREE ON AN INTRODUCTION DATE YET The proposed first time fine to be €200. Increased by 30% for reoffenders. Councils can decide on lower fines
The Spanish Federation of Municipalities and Provinces approves the model ordinance on areas with traffic restrictions that Europe forces to implement to improve air quality - The province still does not have any ZBE in force, despite the fact that the deadline was 1 January 2023
The proposed sanctions of 200 euros, an amount that city councils in application of their local autonomy must decide whether to maintain or modify, may be increased by 30%, in the event of a reoffence by the person responsible . "It is understood that if there is a reoffence, when more than one offence of the same nature has been committed within a period of one year, when it has been so declared by firm resolution", according to the model ordinance approved unanimously by the FEMP in the meeting held in Alicante.

Re: Emmision zones
i'm surprised at the number of cars who have still not got emmision stickers in their windscreens.
But then we were told that Torrevieja Town Hall had until the end of 2023 to introduce a date and designate zones, so there was little chance of getting killed in the rush, although there may be one when they decide to do so.
We've got ours anyway.
