Last Nights Weather Phenomenon

I was outside at the time in Playa Flamenca. The weather during the afternoon had been threatening with the odd rumbles of thunder and grey skies, but this took everyone by surprise.

A new storm is on the way but i think it will miss us
I have translated and given the link in spanish
https://www.tiempo.com/noticias/predicc ... anizo.html

A DANA arrives, and it will be accompanied by storms that will be severe
In the next few hours, a DANA will hang over the vertical of the peninsular northwest that will cause a significant upswing in instability, with locally intense storms. Here we tell you what will happen.

Between Tuesday and Wednesday some of the storms could be severe and present some degree of organization.
The week started with some instability in the interior of the peninsula, with a line of storms that in general did not leave precipitation records above 5 l / m 2 . However, the situation will be completely different in the next 36-48 hours s , when in some areas of the country will be intense storms and be accompanied by adverse events.

A DANA, responsible for the changes
We have a trough off the coast of southwestern Europe that is quite significant for the time, which between this afternoon and noon tomorrow will increase its wavelength, breaking away from the jet for a few hours, so we will have a cold drop or DANA (Isolated Depression at High Levels).

According to our reference model , the HRES-IFS of the ECMWF, this cold air pocket at height will cross the vertical of the peninsular northwest between Tuesday and Wednesday , so that the interior and the northern half will be within the sector of greater loss of height instability.

During Tuesday and Wednesday the storms can be severe
Tomorrow, throughout the first half of the day, there will be a few irregular showers, which will be less likely on the shores of the Mediterranean. Starting at noon, instability will skyrocket in the interior and in the north, with very intense storms in parts of Las Castillas, Madrid , southeast Galicia and northeast Extremadura , although in a more dispersed way they will discharge strongly in areas close to those mentioned. .

Take a look at the active storm watches for today, tomorrow and Wednesday.
Already between Tuesday evening and Wednesday noon, the storms will also gain ground in the northern communities. According to the forecasts of the European model, in some points of Galicia or Asturias the accumulated could exceed 70-100 l / m 2 during the episode.

As Wednesday wears on, showers and storms will be increasingly restricted to the far north and eventually retreat. In the southeast, a storm of little precipitation or dry could be registered. Temperatures will drop significantly , although in the southeastern quadrant we could still speak of highs above 36-37 ºC in valley areas.

Watch out for hail and downbursts
Therefore, a situation to monitor in the next few hours, since the convective parameters indicate that the storms will arrive accompanied by hail and very strong gusts of wind (blowouts) that could occasionally exceed 120 km / h. In addition, some will present a certain organization , generating mesoscale convective systems or squall lines. Airborne dust will also be present in our skies.

Well the rumbles of thunder over Playa Flamemca for the last 10 minutes are now accompanied by a sudden torrential downpour. Would imagine there is a chance of localised flooding in places with the ground so dry and solid.
