Unfortunately the online edition of yesterdays Costa Blanca People newspaper is not yet available, so its a poor scan from the printed edition i'm afraid.

I can see the benefits in not leaving a vehicle to display the warning triangle, but I can also see an increase in rear-end crashes because of there being no warning triangle.
Looking on YouTube, a flashing V16 does not look particularly bright in daylight/sunlight. A warning triangle creates a safe space around the back of a vehicle.

I can see the benefits of leaving the vehicle anyway whether putting out warning triangle or not, weather permitting of course.
Perhaps it would be safer to use the V16 in conjunction with a warning trangle.

Hazards lights would be ok unless your breakdown was because of a flat or failed car battery where you have no power to operate the hazard lights, then an independent powered light would a welcome addition
I am surprised car manufacturers have not thought of fitting the hazard lights with the alternative to switch to a set of aa or aaa dry batteries as a backup located inside the vehicle for when a battery malfunction occurs
But that is probably not profitable enough for them to install

A car does not need a battery to keep running the alternator provides all the current needed so it will not breakdown

Crazy decision The Triangle system works very well and what if your car has a vinyl roof not much good on the boot is it'
But I am sure the manufactures will be making a few shilling in supplying these lights to some 25m car owners in Spain

I am not sure i understand about the alternator bit freddo
If your car has a completely flat battery ie it suddenly stops because it has died, this has happened to me, how can the hazards lights keep working , you need the car running for the alternator to work in this case

the car will still run even with no battery fitted as long as it was there for the initial start up so if you were driving along a road and the battery was disconnected the car would still run ,the alternator will carry on supplying current

Vynl roof is stuck on to the existing metal roof and a magnet will still adhere to the roof

Perhaps some deaths have been caused because people have been hit whilst placing warning triangles, or the stationery vehicle has been hit before the triangles have been placed. Just a thought.
