covid vaccination status/scotland

#1

Post: # 19408Post dave c »

Hi all,
Just read that I'll need a covid vaccination status certificate for travel to alicante from scotland in a couple of weeks.
Apparently they won't accept the NHS app version as they do with england/wales and i have downloaded my status from the website and printed it off. it gives all the details of our vaccinations etc. but it looks like an ordinary sheet of paper with no NHS titles or anything. Just like something I could have typed and printed out myself ! anybody got the same?
TIA

Glad you raised this because I have just read the following article on the BBC website. Looks like you will need an NHS letter.

This link seems to indicate you can request a letter via an online portal and it will be sent to you by post.

Hi carl,
yes, i went on the site and printed it off. It doesn't look very official, just the vaccination details, my date of birth etc. but it looks like an A4 size piece of paper I could have typed and printed myself. No NHS or doctors headings or anything!

Hi Dave.

Is the downloaded 'vaccination status' the same as the NHS letter that comes through the post ?

Just looking at the history behind this on Google, below is the letter that originally could be downloaded from the NHS Scotland website up to 25 May. Due to a security glitch which enabled people to amend the details on the letter, NHS Scotland then prevented it from being downloadable and it could only be requested to be sent to people by post. Wondering whether receiving by post is still current ?

No carl, it's nothing like that.
No headings or NHS banners at all.
Just a list with the dates of vaccination the type of vaccine and my name address date of birth etc but, it would be easy to type your own out!
I hope the ones I requested through the post are more official looking. I don't want turned at the boarding gate!

I heard on news today that the airlines are not accepting the app or downloads and it was confirmed by Kwasi kwarteng Govt spokesman that you need a letter from your Dr to confirm vacation and other details.

Umless the app becomes accepted it was a waste of time and money.

Those that turned up with the app were refused boarding.

I just got my letter of status from nhs scotland and it's more or less exactly like the picture carl posted. It's official looking and I think - and hope - that it'll do me on 16th of this month.
Can't wait to get out there!
Thanks all.

Hi Paulja,
The app was being accepted from english visitors but from scotland you have to have the letter fron NHS scotland, you phone and order it.
I phoned and was told I was 130th in the queue!
Lucky it was a freephone number. About 45 mins later I was through. I still can't get that holding music out of my head...
Another problem we had was we changed our address about a month ago - and it hadn't been updated on their database till about two days ago, they send it first class post and we got them today!
