Went along and got my booster jab at the hospital this morning. Got the bus from OC (no transport) and was there by 07.50. when the queue was long but not overwhelmingly so. It would have been okay if they had started punctually at 8 o'clock but the doors did not open until 08.50 when a big cheer went up! Another 90 minutes or so and I finally got inside for the jab. The queue when I left was huge - it will be interesting to see what figures they come up with. At least it wasn't raining! My previous two were Pfizer but this one was Modena, so I hope that is compatible?
Well, it's done now so I can shut up and stop moaning!

Figures released: 4,253 vaccinations over the 2 days (2,196 Wednesday and 2,057 Thursday). No breakdown between dose 1, 2 or booster.

That's the same combination they are using here in Wales, apparently gives the best level of protectin

You need a different one for the booster, if you had 2 Pfizer you get the Moderna if you had 2 AZ you get the Pfizer, you then get the same level of protection. I had the Pfizer for the booster I felt really ill for 2 days but I looked on this that I had good antibodies and injecting a different sort woke them all up, only thing I am worried about is they say the protection starts to go down after 10 weeks which for me is mid Jan, looks like I will be looking for another soon.

We are on private healthcare, and had a temp sip for the first 2 vacs, which had obviously run out.................OH had a txt on Sun for 4th Jan at the Hospital. Today I had a txt to go to Pilar for my booster.......just 3 hrs notice. So my booster was Moderna after 2 AZ..........................happy that`s sorted.

I read in the Irish papers that Moderna is not given to anyone under 30. I hadn't realised there was an age limit on it. Maybe it's just Ireland. Like you sue21 I had 2 AZ but my booster was Pfizer. I now see it is because of the blood clot problem reported with Moderna.

Perhaps the Orihuela Costa Health Centre did not get the memo that the booster should be from a different pharmaceutical company to that of the 1st and 2nd dose ?

I know a 20 year old girl who has had three jabs, last one three weeks ago and she has still caught covid in the last couple of days. I know the vaccine does not stop you catching it but she will be out of action for work now. It is starting to affect companies and staffing.
