3% retention fee

#1

Post: # 29619Post dave c »

Hi all,
Having sold our property a couple of months ago, we're still waiting for the retention fee refund.
Has anyone had experience of this? How long does it take? What, basically do they do with the money?
I know it's for electricity bills etc, but isn't 3% a bit much?
TIA

Its for Capital Gains Tax if you are a non resident. Nothing to do with utility bills
How long depends on how fast the tax office wants to move.

More info and explanation here

Or just google 3% retention tax Spain

Has your Fiscal Rep/Solicitor lodged the Modelo 210 to claim it back and did you get a copy of the form?
