Possibly a first ? I cannot remember such an event taking place at Cabo Roig in previous years.

Even if your not attending the event expect disruption. This area of Cabo Roig is extremely busy this time of year with beachgoers and the timing of this procession will coincide with people heading to the beaches near to the Cabo Roig Marina.

It is worth noting that Avenida Del Cabo is the only road in and out of this area of Cabo Roig and connects to the N332 at the roundabout at the end of the Cabo Roig "Strip". The Lieutenant Morejon Military Headquarters is located about 1.5kms from the N332 along Avenida Del Cabo.

I remember going to an evening one at Mil Palmeras some time ago and also San Pedro del Pinatar: but Cabo Roig and Campoamor, that's a new one to me too!
Far too hot for me at that time of day!

I did the one in Torrevieja, but that is going back quite a few years now. Nice to see it, but I do not enjoy being amongst crowds of people in searing temperatures, and of course the standing around in the heat as nothing starts in Spain on time.

Only by chance I came across this poster online, and later found a brief reference to the procession in the Euro Weekly newspaper the following day - just a couple of lines.

Notification from the Orihuela Council about upcoming events seems to be a bit hit or miss these days, nothing about this event in Cabo Roig but I received several emails about this weeks Moors and Christians celebrations in Orihuela that conclude tomorrow.
