Resident vs Non-Resident

#1

Post: # 34490Post chrisz »

Does anyone know if there are any decent immigration lawyers in Torrevieja who offer an initial consultation free of charge?

I'm trying to get my head round the situation of how you can have residency in Spain and still be considered a non-resident (for tax purposes).

I've read that it will depend on the number of days per year you spend in the country out of the 365 you are allowed to due to the permit or visa you have.

If a lawyer says yes, you can become a non-resident for tax purposes but still have residency then I'd be happy to pay them to arrange it for my Wife and I but an reluctant to pay our money at the start if no such arrangement is possible.

Any recommendations out there?

West Med Abogados in Torrevieja used to be recommended on the old Torrevieja site.

I don't know if there is any way round the 183 days and Fiscal Residency. There is a Non Lucrative Visa for 12 months initially and renewable for 2yrs but it is always leading to Residency.

Not 100% sure but Digital Nomad Visa is a perhaps a possibility. I did look at this myself but it sounds quite complicated especially for self employed people? but, I am no expert on this.
