Processionary Caterpillars

This topic was discussed in the Animals Section in December, but there was an article in today's Costa Blanca News that Orihuela has hired a company to fumigate and remove the caterpillars nests.
Anyone experiencing problems within Orihuela municipality with the nests can report it to [email protected] for them to take action.
Hopefully the other local municipalities will follow the actions of Orihuela as contact between these poisonous caterpillars and humans can lead to breathing problems and rashes, as well as serious health problems (sometimes fatal) for pets.
I have only ever seen the nests on pine trees, and they will strip it bare of its pine needles and leave it dead.
