They raise the retirement age in the UK and it is met with a tut, raised eyebrows and a moan....Women have been unmercifully ripped off and nothing is done....it is just accepted......not so across the channel....Macron wants to raise the retirement age to 64...i kid you not 64 (anyone else think the Brits are having the piss taken out of them?)and suddenly the country is at a standstill...rubbish piling high in the streets....not taking it lying down....good luck to them.

Nobody can do protests and strikes quite like the French. Man the barricades. Tear up the cobbles :) Shocking not to be able to retire at 60. My heart bleeds for them... not

The French certainly know how to protest. We were driving through Rouen on the way home one year and the students were protesting. It was terrifying....fortunately we were able to reverse and get out of it but it was very frightening at the time.

But the UK with the new age of 67 is the joint highest in europe and one of the lowest pensions.
Perhaps the French are right.

I am talking about the state pension. I thought that was obvious. You can't put more in to get a higher state pension than the maximum.
