Given footballer's salaries I doubt if these fines would trouble many of the players.


Never heard of "Snus". According to Google it is illegal to sell it in the UK, but not illegal to use or possess it in the UK, and footballers are getting addicted to it. In simple terms it is a type of snuff, if anyone remembers that, but you put it between your upper lip and gum as opposed to inhaling through the nose like the traditional snuff.

Snuff is still very popular in Scandinavian countries. Apparently it works to greater effect if used in the mouth as you describe.
Interesting to see that list.
