The railway line was the Torrevieja line that came off at Montebello near Quasada the station there is now a Cafe you can see it from the AP7 the line ran alongside the motorway from Albatera

Thank you for that. Very interesting indeed. I wish I could find the exact route from the quasada area into Torrevieja. Next to ambifuego there is a tall poll with a big cross on it warning of a train crossing so did the train actually run into los montesinos I wonder.
From the position of this crossing it doesn't appear to have been a direct link to the, now non existent rail way line that ran near the garden centre on the left hand side of the montesinos road as you come of the roundabout.
Sorry if I am going on a bit.
Any thoughts?

Karen -. The now defunct railway line ( now a cycle and walking track ) from the Garden centre at Montesinos to Torrevieja town , was used for the "salt" trains .
I don't think it was part of a commuter railway route .
Of course , I may be wrong about that .
