Hi guys hope your all well.
I have a question I’m hoping someone can help me with please..
I no longer have any details re my NIE from when I had a house in Spain. Can anyone tell me if I decide to return to Spain and rebuy or even rent for a while do I have to re apply for a new NIE or would they be able to recover our old NIEs.
Many thanks
Jeanie

The NIE issued to you years ago is for life, just like your National Insurance number in UK. No need to re-apply, recover your existing NIE

Try asking the last solicitor you used when you sold your house .
They will have a record of your NIE number then just reapply for a duplicate

We had a very old NIE certificate (around 2000) and discovered we needed a new one to buy a car. It was easier to arrange an appointment at the Spanish consulate in Manchester. I think the form on the Spanish consulate website was an EX-15. The web page we used has disappeared but I'm sure you can find it here
