RIP Cecilia Giménez - Famous Spanish Artist

Most will probably not recognise her name, but many will definitely remember her work of art!
Hard to believe that it was back in 2012, a then 81 year old Cecilia full of self-confidence took it upon herself to restore a 19th-century fresco of Jesus, and as they say the rest is history.

Dare I say it but I think the original looked much better than the restoration . !!

I agree BB. The restoration is very feminine looking. The eyes have changed completely as has the shape of the nose.

Agreed Fred. It appears most people back in 2014 said it was dreadful but then it became a tourist attraction and brought much needed prosperity to Borja so they forgave her.
