Upgraded this afternoon to an orange weather warning.

'The activation of the orange alert for strong winds for tomorrow, Saturday, requires taking all precautions: closure of parks and outdoor sports facilities, cemetery and hostel, and postponement to Sunday of the Torrevieja Carnival night parade.'


'The weather situation tomorrow could be very dangerous in many areas of our region, including the province of Alicante and the Region of Murcia. Forecast models predict the possibility of hurricane-force wind gusts in mountainous and inland areas.'


To reinforce the warning, you should also have received an alert to your mobile phone this evening:

'Mobile phones are buzzing with Civil Protection alerts about strong winds forecast for tomorrow. People are being asked to restrict outdoor activities and travel. The orange alert level remains in effect for the province of Alicante.'

Got the mobile phone alert. Frighthened me to death !!

Hopefully it won't be too bad. The weather is certainly very bad this year. At least the reservoirs are filling quite nicely. We are expected to get snow tomorrow in my neck of the wood

yes i received an alert last night but why didnt we receive an alert a couple of weeks ago as the winds were very strong then

Was upstairs when the alert went off, I thought that at first I had unwelcome visitors in the house
