Firefighters are working to extinguish a fire that broke out in an apartment in a building on Avenida de la Purísima in Torrevieja. The fire originated in a first-floor apartment of a five-story building at approximately 7:20 p.m. this Tuesday.

Six firefighters from the city's fire station, along with a sergeant and a corporal, were dispatched to the scene with two fire engines. Several patrols from the Civil Guard and the Local Police were also deployed, and a SAMU (Emergency Medical Service) unit was sent, although, given the current lack of information, it did not have to intervene.

The incident occurred just four days after another fire last Friday damaged four homes at the intersection of Ramón Gallud and María Parodi streets.
