Los locos Beach and ongoing works

They have finally gotten around to doing something about the flooding outside the 222 or 3 little ducks junction. They are laying a large underground water bunker along Calle Roentegen to meet up with the existing waste water system which goes into the sea at Los Locos. Instead of flowing in over the sand they will channel it under the beach. You can see the works on the eltiempo camera. Also I notice they still lay down the roped squares each day on the beach.

Yes Bee, good to see some work at that area as there has been some serious flooding over the years.
Some ground drainage was done a couple of years ago with little success.
This area takes a huge volume of street water from the the surrounding areas right up to Ave de Paris.

We walked the beach at Los Locas on Saturday afternoon. All we saw was a great deal of seaweed, 2 areas with mounds of sand but absolutely no roped off squares. We were also at Playa del Cura and again no squares, quite a few sun worshippers with great tans but that was it. Over a few days ago in the far side of town, again no squares. I expect there us no need in November! Again, absolutely none on the La Mata beach ( walked it this afternoon)
Do you think the Los Locas webcam was showing an old photo?

Bee, are you at home? It’s beautiful over here as you probably know. We’ve enjoyed our time here enormously but go home sooner than we planned as NI still haven’t introduced the 4 day quarantine and we are prepared to take a chance do changed our flights yet again. Michael O’Leary should have a good Christmas on all the money I paid him making changes. ( they charged me another €70 last week stating that the promotion didn’t apply between 16/12/20 and 10/1/21 so wasted that money as flying home a week earlier now). Yes R I am at home no Spain for me until well into next year unfortunately. Have a safe journey home.
The weather is taking a dive from Wednesday with a cold spell from the artic The squares on los locos beach are very visible on the webcam and they seem to be up-to-date as you can see the works currently being carried out. They are just in front of the block of aparments near the 222 restaurant side

You are probably correct about the squares, I’ll take another look soon.
I hope you are referring to the weather in Ireland and not here!
Didn’t get out for a walk today as we had some workmen in doing a few jobs. One of the tiles at the gate was badly broken so we decided to get that sorted out. Back again tomorrow at 9am so will be glad when they finish.
It’s a simple and easy life here. You will be glad to get over again sometime in the New Year. Meanwhile, you will be enjoying the festive season at home. I am told that the houses are all beautifully decorated as people have had so much spare time on their hands. I’ll do ours during quarantine but nobody will get to see it as we are going to stay with our daughter and family. Hope you have a wonderful healthy and happy Christmas x
