Having noticed that the price of secondhand vehicles in Spain is quite high is it more adventagious to re register a British car or bite the bullet and buy Spanish.

Yes. If you intend to live here or leave a car here to use when you come out on holiday, then left hand drive is better and just makes life much easier regarding overtaking, road tolls and parking ticket machines.
