What would or shouldn’t I do?

#1

Post: # 21681Post Meatloaf »

My sister is over in m6 Apartment at moment and she swore blind she could hear a Pidgeon somewhere nearby, anyway turns out it’s pidgeons in My neighbour in the Apartment next to me on top of Aircon and they have left whole place in a mess,

Obviously nobody is there at moment or probably since last year

Should I notify the Community to get in touch with owner I’d appreciate any advice certainly from a hygiene issue thanks

Looks like they have made themselves quite comfortable. The only solution would be to put netting on the balcony to keep them out or a series of cd's on strings as the shiny surface of the CD's will keep them out and they will go somewhere else. How many floors up is it? You could report it to the community but I don't see the community doing much about it as it is inside on someone's property. Would the neighbour have left keys with anybody?

Unfortunately pigeons although very stupid birds are also very persistent. Once they have made up their minds, then they seem incapable of changing them. If you can see sufficiently to take a photo the presumably you can see sufficiently to fire a water pistol with some accuracy? Some determined target practice will eventually see them off.

Whenever I've done this job for people, I use white plastic mesh and old CD's, the CD's stop them sitting/landing on the balcony rail, the mesh which is only fastened with cable ties covers the aircon unit.

Hi folks yes this is not my Apartment but the one next door the balcony is seperate so doesn’t come in to mine, funny I did think of the water pistol and I can easily stretch over, I did email the community to get in touch with owner to let them know, I’m going over next week and I do know there from Ireland would offer to go in and clean it up , I’ll seemwhat happens apparently homing pidgeons can be hard to get rid of as been said there persistent

Nice neat job there Adey 👍 I suppose the trick is not to give them anything to perch on.

Water pistol would be your best bet, I'm trying to think what you could add to the water, it has to be something that won't stain, but will deter them from roosting again.

That was one of my early one's Bee so not that great, but I did get the desired result eventually.
