ON THE PHOTO OF THE PHONE IN THE MIDDLE THERE ARE 3 WIRES THICKER THAN THE OTHERS THEY ARE THE MAINS CONNECTIONS TO A POWER SUPPLY WHICH WILL COME FROM YOUR FUSE BOX SO YOU NEED AN ELECTRICIAN TO CHECK THE POWER ON THEM
Re: Intercom Phone in Apartment
This system operates on either 12 volts AC or DC it is not mains powered. There are no batteries fitted unless there is a back up battery somewhere but his is very unusual unless in a high value site.
At the outside unit the speech unit behind the plate will have terminals marked + - and there should be voltage there if not you need to find the power supply unit and check for voltage as this is a common fault. if voltage is there you likely have a faulty handset.
The thicker wires are being used to prevent volt drop to keep the speech quality good.
Some quick tests assuming the 12 volts is at the speech unit. You will need someone to help you.
When you press the outside button does the phone ring. It not it could be the button.
When you lift the handset can you hear the other person speaking to you. If not it is either the handset or the speech unit that is faulty.
If this is a multi flat system check with a neighbour if there call button works and if they can speak to the caller from their handset.
These are the only 3 items which can fail.
Hope this helps.
