Looks like coronavirus brought about an even earlier demise of Europe's largest regional airline that had been struggling for months, if not years.
I don't want to turn this into a political thread (as there is another section on the forum for that), but it was Interesting to hear opposition parties and unions in the media saying the government didn't do enough, without actually recognising that Flybe's own shareholders were not prepared to put anymore money into the airline. Can anyone imagine the precedent it would set if any government bailed out a business which its own shareholders failed to back.

The general consensus is that, as you mentioned, they have been struggling for a long time and the coranavirus was just a timely excuse to close it down.
