Re: Abandoned UK car
According to the UK insurance database SL58VCT is a Volkswagen Polo. It seems unlikely that both DVLA and AskMID are wrong regarding the make/model of the car entitled to display SL58VCT.
Re: Abandoned UK car
It's obvious the car is on false plates and had been stolen and I can't see that whoever dumped it there is going to come back and get it, not after 6 months, so it's clearly been abandoned.
Just report it to the police or the town hall.

Re: Abandoned UK car
B, i just double checked on the photo i took, it is a 56 not an 58, checked again on the uk database and it comes up Registration numberBrandyboy wrote: 30 Aug 2022 18:01 It's obvious the car is on false plates and had been stolen so I can't see that whoever dumped it there is going to come back and get it, not after 6 months.
Just report it to the police stop with all this faffing about.
SL56 VCT
Make RENAULT
Colour BLUE
I am really glad i never reported it as it was my mistake misreading the reg from my photo
So it looks as if the owner has abandoned it or the tax etc has run out
Sorry to all who contributed and were misled
We have a storm on the way so i expect the inside of the vehicle will now get very wet
Re: Abandoned UK car
SL56VCT = Taxed until 1 October 2022, MOT expired 5 October 2021 and not insured.jimny1 wrote: 30 Aug 2022 18:18B, i just double checked on the photo i took, it is a 56 not an 58, checked again on the uk database and it comes up Registration numberBrandyboy wrote: 30 Aug 2022 18:01 It's obvious the car is on false plates and had been stolen so I can't see that whoever dumped it there is going to come back and get it, not after 6 months.

Re: Abandoned UK car
It has a registered owner so with an address in the UK which should be easy to locate and see if they have just parked it until they next return. How old would that car be and what kind of market value?

Re: Abandoned UK car
If the MOT has expired then it cannot be driven back to the UK as it needs to be tested there, plus it has no insuranceBee wrote: 30 Aug 2022 19:33 It has a registered owner so with an address in the UK which should be easy to locate and see if they have just parked it until they next return. I also noticed one of the back tyres is nearly flat to add to the list
Re: Abandoned UK car
The car is a 2006 Bee. At the last MOT in 2021 the mileage recorded was 205679, high for age. Parkers which is a respected car valuation site in the UK has it valued at £275 - £600 for a private seller or £1,080 - £1,730 for a dealer, however that is based on a mileage of 170000, which I assume would be average mileage for a car of this year with no optional extras.Bee wrote: 30 Aug 2022 19:33 It has a registered owner so with an address in the UK which should be easy to locate and see if they have just parked it until they next return. Re: Abandoned UK car
I expect it has been abandoned C, with a car that old and with so many miles clocked up either the engine has packed in or it doesnt have the documents to get it back to the UKCarl wrote: 31 Aug 2022 08:08The car is a 2006 Bee. Or another possibility is the expense of the fuel to get it back
I would not take a chance driving a car with such a high mileage back to the Uk anyway
Coincidently the car is the same age as my kia carens , but mine is only showing 99,000 miles on the clock, being right hand drive, and is in very good condition, according to my mobile mechanic, just hope it passes the ITV again next month
Re: Abandoned UK car
It' s been dumped, abandonded , deserted, forsaken and rejected, with no insurance or current MOT.
But one saving grace is that it's taxed until the end of September. x
