Do we not have a search box for the forum as I can only see one for Google.

The wording on the search box is misleading, I believe it should display "powered by Google" (or perhaps "enhanced by Google") but for some reason has never done - I will look into it again.

When you search for your choosen word(s), it will return any results found for this forum first followed by those it finds as if it was conducting a Google search of the internet.

EDIT: Just checked and to correct what I have said above, it returns some sponsored Google results first then followed by the forum results.

Yes , all it says is Google Search and if you enter a word it will take you the relevant Google page.

It doesn't show searches on this forum, it goes straight to a google page of other results

This screenshot is part of the first page of results when I typed Wendy into the search box. A few sponsored Google adverts at the top, followed by those for the forum. If there are no results to show for the forum then it will only show Google results.

Perhaps you could share the word(s) you were searching for so that I can look into it further.

Normally if you put a word or words in the search box it will show any comments or posts made by members of the forum on that particular subject and you can easily see if your query / question has been discussed before.

If you put in a word or words in the present search box you will be directed to general Google websites containing the word / words in the search box, when all you want to do is search the forum.

I will take a look at the search function, maybe changing it to the standard forum search for ease of use.

Yes, I see little point in having the search function linked solely to Google when you can access it off forum anyway.

On Mailonline for example you can choose between 'Site' or 'Web' in their search box.
