Russel Brand - your thoughts

#1

Post: # 42792Post Bart »

Not my cup of tea at all. I hated his lifestyle, his boasts, his general demeanour and most of all, never found him terribly amusing. But while he was sat on the left, entertaining the Millibands at the last election etc, the media left him alone.

Now, post covid he has become outspoken against the vaccines and the billions made out of them by some companies/politicians. So now he is being called out for alleged offences around 20 years ago. If you were being cynical, you may think it was an orchestrated attempt to cancel him.

1. Create a story that is difficult to prove or disprove.
2. Whip up a storm in the media
3. Wait for his funding (YouTube in this case) to withdraw his ability to make money and defend himself
4. Job Done.

He may well have done everything he was accused of an worse - remember the Andrew Sachs prank call that he & Jonathan Ross made? But why now? Why is this all coming out now? He has never hidden his personality and arrogance?

Always wary of these stories,i think the press and media are more interested in bringing people down than getting justice for the "victims"at the end of the day it'll be one persons version against another..however mud sticks.
The best thing about this forum is that it keeps frogface and his brood happy, cos they've nowt else to talk about.

Couldn't agree more. What I'm interested in is why now? He's been odious and arrogant for years.

Certainly a devisive character...those on the left tend to like him and those on the right not so...however he does ask questions that many find uncomfortable.....if he was a female would undoubtedly be labelled a whore.

Can't stand the man.
I have no idea why he is being accused now but there may be a very good reason. Many times people don't report stuff because they don't think they will be believed and only come forward when others do.

We should wait and see. If he has been misbehaving I am sure it will all come out. Let the courts decide.

In the meantime my TV remote is on standby incase he appears on TV.

I agree with all of that but my worry is the timing. The conspiracy theorists says its because he's anti vax, the rest say its like a "me too" type group revelation. Perhaps it's both?

Putting aside all personal feelings and opinions...when you actually listen to what he has to say (and i like a lot of what he has to say)about division in society, democracy not working for us,the power of giant corporations, media control, pharm and tech giants more and more and more people are following him on social media. (I'm guessing in excess of a million)...so what happens out of the blue many years later some women approach channel4....yep approached channel4...they didn't report it to the police....and bingo...all of a sudden focus has been diverted from what he has to say to something he has supposed to have done....mud sticks.

It's a tactic used by the civil service, as outlined on Yes Minister. They are playing the man, not the ball.

And it stinks to high heaven
