Christmas excitement as thousands of Brits either lose or gain a trampoline

Christmas week has become a little more exciting after the Met Office revealed that you may find yourself with one more or one fewer trampolines today.

With strong winds across the country, the bouncy background apparatus – which is basically a giant sail if you think about it – is primed and ready for take-off.

“The kids are crying,” confirmed Simon Williams, a Kettering resident and trampoline owner for just two days.

“I looked out the window and the trampoline was gone. I told the kids that Santa had taken it back because they didn’t eat their sprouts in their Christmas dinner. It’s probably halfway to Newcastle by now.

“I’m pretty sure the cat was sleeping on it, which is doubly concerning, but at least he’ll have an adventure.”

Newcastle resident, Hayley Rice, said, “The kids have been going on at me for a trampoline for months, but they’re expensive so I told them Santa only had a few this year and they shouldn’t get their hopes up, and then lo and behold one has just landed in the back garden.

”It just goes to show that Santa works in mysterious ways. Or is that God?

”Not quite sure why he threw a terrified cat in with it, but beggars can’t be choosers, can they?”

As a complete aside to this we collect old ones for our allotment, they make really good frames for Polytunnels.
