Another Electric Vehicle Fire

Re: Another Electric Vehicle Fire
Beautiful car. Health to enjoy. Glad you are more than pleased with it. My daughter bought an electric/ diesel BMW a year or so ago. As far as I know, the electric part doesn’t take her very far at all. Your car clearly isn’t a hybrid and probably more recent. Think the manufacturers are working like mad to perfect them.
It’s fine for owners with a driveway as they can install a charging point on their property but hopeless for anyone parking on the street outside their home. Can’t have a big hose tripping pedestrians as they pass by. Think it’s going to take a while to convince us all.

Re: Another Electric Vehicle Fire
I see the latest Tesla's with longer range have an official distance of over 400 miles, I know someone who has the same electric car as me and a Tesla and they said they prefer the Tesla. You are right about the drive. Prices of these cars are too much as well, any new car is bad enough, but these are mega expensive. Easy to drive, very responsive. Maybe Toyota will bring out the solid state battery, that will help.

It looks like the solid state battery is going to be a winner in selling EVs

Re: Another Electric Vehicle Fire
Think you are right there. When you can do 500 miles at least on a single charge people will not have to waste time and money recharging at service stations. As a new person to these cars apart from the range they are great, most of the time I don't go that far so not an issue. The ohme charger I have has a built in SIM card so just charges when at 7p per KW. If I didn't have a drive I wouldn't bother, recharging elsewhere would be at least as much as fuel but more time to recharge.
