A chemist is murdered in his lab. The crime scene leaves no solid clues for his murder except for one. The chemist left a piece of paper behind. On that paper, was a list of several different substances. These substances were nickel, carbon, oxygen, lanthanum, and sulfur.
After collecting this piece of evidence, the police looked for their next clue. They checked with everyone that came by that lab that entire day. His nephew Nicolas came by, his lab partner Gina came by, his wife came by, and his friend James came by. They did not even have to call them in for questioning. The officers knew immediately who the murderer was. It was Nicolas.
How did they come to this conclusion so quickly ?
