Scooters in the bathtub and bicycles up to the ceiling: this is what the apartment of the man arrested in Torrevieja looked like

A 45-year-old man has been arrested and the Civil Guard is searching for the owners of the material recovered in an apartment in the town.

The Civil Guard, as part of Operation Pandora49, has dismantled a storage point for stolen goods in Torrevieja. The operation resulted in the arrest of a 45-year-old man and the recovery of a large number of high-end bicycles and electric scooters stolen in the municipality.

A robbery uncovers the plot

The investigation began last January when the Torrevieja Civil Guard station received a report of a burglary. The homeowner stated that two high-end bicycles had been stolen from his backyard.

After analyzing the evidence, officers located the bicycles in a building within the town limits. Upon arrival, they observed an individual with one of the bicycles, who could not explain its origin. The suspect displayed a hostile attitude and obstructed the police work, so he was arrested as the alleged perpetrator of a crime of serious resistance and disobedience, in addition to being charged with theft.

A floor converted into a warehouse

During the search of the suspect's home, officers found a total of 35 bicycles and 18 electric scooters, as well as several chargers. The small house was completely crammed with the stolen goods; in fact, the electric scooters were piled up in the bathtub .

The detainee, a 45-year-old man, has been released pending a court summons. The seized items remain in the custody of the judicial authorities. So far, the operation has solved seven robberies or thefts committed in Torrevieja, although the number of victims may increase as the investigation progresses.

Appeal to those affected

The Civil Guard has issued an appeal to residents of the area who have suffered this type of theft. Those affected are advised to go to the Civil Guard station in Torrevieja or contact them by phone at 965 71 01 13 to try to recover their belongings. To do so, it is necessary to provide any information that can prove ownership, such as serial numbers or photographs.

I wonder how many people will be able to provide proof of ownership. It must be galling to be reunited with your expensive bike yet can't prove that it's yours !!

Mind you he is still out on the street so no bicycle or e-scooter is safe from him still. He had a well stocked 'shop'.
