This particular theft took place in Torrevieja, and although the photo in the article of the female is taken from behind so you cannot see her face, many may recognise her distinctive combination-style of clothing from still images or videos shared online warning others about her crimes over what seems like many years now in areas from Quesada to Torrevieja to Orihuela Costa.
Unfortunately, she and her accomplice were released after 'imposition of precautionary measures' by the judiciary.

Two people arrested in Torrevieja for theft using the "hug" method
The Civil Guard has arrested two people in Torrevieja for theft using the "hug" method against an elderly person. A witness recorded the theft, which facilitated the identification of the perpetrators.
The Civil Guard, within the framework of the Senior Citizen Security Plan, has arrested a woman and a man as alleged perpetrators of a theft committed using the well-known "hug" method, whose victim was an elderly person.
The events occurred on Tuesday morning, around 1:00 p.m., when the Civil Guard received a call from a neighbor who stated that he had witnessed a woman stealing a gold chain from an elderly person who was walking through the municipality.
The theft took place near the well-known Curva del Palangre. The witness managed to capture the exact moment of the theft on his mobile phone, providing evidence that proved crucial to the subsequent police investigation.
After gathering information about the vehicle in which the woman and a man had fled the scene, a search operation was immediately launched to locate the alleged perpetrators of the theft.
Minutes later, two patrol cars covering one of the exits from Torrevieja located the suspicious vehicle and pulled it over. After the initial check, the officers confirmed that both the description of the car and its occupants perfectly matched the one provided by the witness.
A thorough search of the vehicle and its occupants was carried out, finally locating the stolen gold chain in one of the woman's trouser pockets.
For these acts, both were arrested as alleged perpetrators of a theft, and were subsequently placed at the disposal of the competent judicial authority, who ordered the release of both with the imposition of precautionary measures.
Although the Civil Guard has images of the theft victim, they are requesting public assistance in identifying the victim and returning the recovered gold chain.
Anyone who can provide information can contact the Main Post of the Civil Guard in Torrevieja by calling 965 71 01 13.
