Plug in DIY solar panels ?

#1

Post: # 53410Post jimny1 »

I was just reading about these plug in folding solar panels that lidll in the UK are going to sell for the first time after overcoming restrictions
The article says they are already available in Spain and Germany
I have never seen them advertised anywhere , only the conventional expensive ones that need installation or the small camping folding ones
Has anyone heard of them and if so where they can be purchased ?
Many thanks

It depends how many watts/kws they produce to make them worthwhile. If they produced about 1500watts they could power the aircon.

You can't have 12 panels with plug in Fred as you are limited to producing 800watts.

Who say you can only produce 800 watts

There’s also no limit on how much power you can generate. However, if your system’s capacity is over 3.68 kWp, your installer will have to gain approval from your Distribution Network Operator (DNO) first, unless you have a three-phase electricity supply.

The panels in your link are only 200w each.

I did come across somewhere that you can only plug in up to 800w per socket, and led to believe that is also meant as 800w per circuit. I will see if I can find it again.
