Just watched the christmas M+S advert on uk tv, the food looks delicious , as it does each year
I know they deliver clothes all over mainland spain, but wonder why they dont do the same with food ?
I know food is heavier to transport than clothes therefore not so cost effective, or maybe there is a law in spain preventing this ?
As an alternative i am surprised they havent opened a store along this coastal region already having stores elsewhere including on gibralter
We already have iceland and tescos operated by overseas, its a shame something similar wasnt done for M+S with their food being better quality, in my opinion , although a little pricy

Yes, when we lived Northampton we used to spend a lot of money on M+S food and their clothes were excellent too.

Found this online fred showing which stores there are, or were, it says in 2018 marbella has a store , not sure if it is closed now though

M S closed all their stores on mainland Spain 2018 although they still have a store on Gran Caneria.
There are certain rules when shipping food stuffs into mainland Europe particularly liquids so that is possible why they do not do it
In a previous life I worked in an export department of a major food manufacturer in the UK The rules became so tight it simply wasn't viable to operate

Just another observation on the subject of retail stores .
C & A closed all their uk shops , approximately 20 years ago ( maybe longer )..
Yet , they seem to be doing ok , both in Spain and Germany .
Woolworth's was another to close it's uk shops ..
But, it's a vibrant operation in Germany .
Having said that -. It's more like a Poundstretcher shop now .
Cheap and cheerful.
Which is back to what it was originally . Anyone remember the "Everything under Sixpence" advertising slogan.
