Re: Bank charges
we are non resident with bankia account with similiar charges and changed to their online account ( Cuenta On ) No charges at all for bills etc. and you get a debit card with it.
Re: Bank charges
Will it still be easy for a non-resident UK citizens to open a Spanish bank account now the transition period is over? I have retained my Bankinter acct, although I also use Transferwise, just in case things get difficult in future.
Re: Bank charges
What account is that you have as the Expansion account requires 700 plus to be paid in every month also it is only free of charges if you take out insurance or an investment product with Sabadellrds123 wrote: 06 Feb 2021 07:33 I’m a non resident I’m with banko Sabadell I transfer €500 a month and get free banking with a card.

Re: Bank charges
And if you take out insurance it is almost impossible with banco Sabadell to make a claim.
Re: Bank charges
but it is cheaper to take a contents insurance out than what the charges would cost you
Re: Bank charges
I should have said I only need it for direct debit bills to be honest insurance water electricity etc
That’s handy to know Dave just wondering does Bankinter have a similar option we are non residents like the Cuenta On ) No charges at all for bills etc. and you get a debit card with it.,
It’s just the pain of having to change direct debits and to different accounts ,
Do u just transfer money to ur account as u see fit

Re: Bank charges
The bad news -you won't be able to close your account at the moment if you do decide to change banks unless you get a solicitar or gestor to do it which would probably cost 2yrs charges. You have to present yourself in person at the bank to close your account. €100 for the year isn't too bad. Problem is as far as fees go with the banks the only way is up.
