The Restored Pascual Flores sailboat to visit Torrevieja end of June

You may remember the Foundation Victoria Nao took charge of the restoration of the emblematic Pascual Flores last year. The boat is due to get all its seaworthy certificates in June and will commence its new role as an ambassador for Torrevieja. It is scheduled to visit Torrevieja at the end of June.

Looks impressive and restored so soon. I thought the restoration of the of the Pascual Flores would have taken far longer based on the images and accompanying reporting of the boats poor condition when it left Torrevieja.

It was beautiful when it was restored a few years ago. Those big ships are really beautiful under sail. It was such a sorry site to see what happened to it after all the millions that were invested in it. This link gives the history and background and you can even sign up as a trainee. A great experience for young people interested in sailing.

The Pascual Flores arrived back in Torrevieja Port yesterday Wed 30th June as promised after her full restoration by the Foundation Nao Victoria. What a beauty and transformation since I last saw her sorry state in the Maritime Museum in Torrevieja. You can visit her for free until Sunday 4th July

Visiting times:10:00 to 14:00 and 17:00 to 21:00 horas

She then departs on a European tour and the
Nao Victoria Foundation will be back with its fleet in Torrevieja in October.
