Lower Electricity Bills?
Lower Electricity Bills?
I received an email from Iberdrola today informing me that the IVA/VAT on my electricity bill is to be reduced from 21% to 10% for the rest of this year. The email was in Spanish so I may have got 'the wrong end of the stick'.

Yes I got mine and it shows the reduction of IVA the bill was lower than I expected but not a lot
Re: Lower Electricity Bills?
I have just had an electricity bill about half what I usually pay at this time of year.
I am just waiting for the other half of the bill to pop up...

Re: Lower Electricity Bills?
I got 2 bills last month but the total was a lot less than normal , only the 1 this month.
Re: Lower Electricity Bills?
Just had our bill and it is the lowest in the 9 months we have lived here We put it down to less cooking BBQ's and less hot water needed - cool showers - but now we can put 10 per cent IVA into the mix
38 euros V 62 euros - More than happy

We also got an extra bill. We usually get our electricity bill mid month but due to the change in rates on 1 July, got our regular bill mid June and then another dated the 1st of July which not a full months usage. Not sure if we will get another 'half' bill any day now or will revert to a monthly billing from 1st July to 1st August.

Re: Lower Electricity Bills?
We've just had two bills at once; one up to 1 June and the second for the period after. The email explained it was due to some new regulatory requirements, though the IVA rate quoted on both was 21%. A separate email, received today, explains there is an IVA reduction if you're on power usage of 10kW or less, up to 31 December 2021. The IVA should be 10% and not 21%. The bills say our power is 3.3 kW so I'm not sure how this 'adds up'?
