RIP Sydney Poitier who passed away today aged 94.

He was Hollywood's first Black movie star and the first Black man to win the best actor Oscar.

I think ' To Sir with love' was an excellent film which really encapsulated inner London schools in the mid 60's.

A very talented individual and rightly recognised accordingly over his career.

The majority of his achievements were before my time and his career may not necessarily be known by the more recent generations, but many will still recognise his name from this classic Only Fools & Horses episode.

Yes he was a great actor and in spite of what Grandad said, he played more than just 'black fellas' :)
