new magnetic charging cables

....sounds marvellous...latch in magnetically, can rotate...no need to check if plug is right way up..no danger of forcing damage...


...ordered two...about 4 euros each...will up date on if they are any good!

They have been in use a good few months also my Blackberry Playbook has them and its 6 years old

Came today...good quality...plug end can be left firmly but unobtrusively in appliance.
Charging cable end snaps magnetically onto the plug quite positively and firmly. But the main thing is, I don't have to fiddle about trying to find the right way up...it just goes straight on...and no wear pushing plug in and out every time.
Lights up blue on charger end...presumably so it is easy to locate in the dark.
Charges ok, so overall, better than the standard charger cable, and I think a good buy!

Was prompted to try them after I'd had to resolder the charging socket on my Nexus 7 tablet for the 3rd or 4th time, it's a known weak point and an incredibly fiddly job with 5 pins each about 1mm wide and a space of 1mm between them.

When I was a younger man it was the sort of a job I could do standing on my head and with the naked eye but now I need a 5x jewelers loupe and have to get so close to it that I risk burning my nose with the iron!

Had a look on Amazon looks a really useful piece of kit. I would need more than a couple of each tip, can't seem to find them sold individually. Any one bought them separately?
