Renewal of bus pass - Torreveija

Does anyone know what is happening regarding the renewal of existing bus passes?
Went last November to do our annual bus pass renewal with up to date padron and ID (at the office at the front of Torrevieja indoor market) and were told they were not renewing that year due to contract renewal / bus service tender for renewal, but the bus passes would work until November 2022.
Any up to date information as to what happening appreciated. Thank you.

We renewed ours in 2014, after the first year, then we never renewed them again as a bus driver told us their equipment does not check the expiry date. We still use the buses with the same expired pass and have never had a problem.
