So when our old green bin disappears overnight, we're next in line for a new side loading one.

The bins are emptied by a single-crewed refuse truck that parks parallel to the bin and has a side lifting mechanism that raises, and then tips the bin, so the waste falls into the truck. All done by the driver from the comfort of his cab.

Ahh now I see. It relates to the emptying not the filling I couldn't see the difference in opening the top when you wanted to put in your rubbish as you were still top filling. Thanks Carl
